Mikhail Nesterov's harmonious composition, tranquil landscape, and luminous palette beautifully convey the spiritual character of this historic foundation.
Artist: Mikhail Nesterov (1862–1942) was a Russian painter celebrated for his deeply spiritual works inspired by Orthodox Christianity, monastic life, and the Russian landscape. Blending lyrical naturalism with religious devotion, he created paintings that remain among the finest expressions of Russian sacred art.
Curator's Notes: Nesterov devoted much of his career to portraying the spiritual history of Russia through quiet, reflective compositions.
